Whats I"m Up To

12.12.2002

Wow...I'm an idiot. I was setting up the new e-mail address askyanni@theyanni.com, for the new section of the website, and I realised something. When I had made e-mail addresses before like:

yanni@theyanni.com
the_nExt@theyanni.com

When it asked me to input a name for the addresses, I inputed the entire e-mail address I wanted, so actually I created the e-mail address

yanni@theyanni.com@theyanni.com

So Yeah, I feel like an idiot for it taking this long to realize. It also explains why I hadn't recieved certain e-mails that I know were sent. But oh well its fixed now.... :-P

Did some spring cleaning on the site, totally reorganized the file structure, of course no one would ever notice, but every section is totally within its own folder, which the makes for less clutter and makes it easier to add new content. Also I got rid of some stuff from the Secret page, stuff that took up too much room or was there just for someone to grab from me. I think I'll be putting up a Anime episode every week. I think I'll start with Azumanga Daioh, since its still a new series, and its great :-)

Also I've been on a binge of "Strong Bad E-mails" which you can snag the link to on my links page. It made me want to dig up my favorite section of my DBZ site, "Ask Trunks" in which I answered peoples random questions as that character, it was pretty damn amusing if I say so myself. But I was thinking of bringing itto this site, but obviously Trunks has nothing to do with this site, so just "Ask Yanni". I should have it up pretty soon, its pretty simple, just e-mail me at askyanni@theyanni.com with a question, it could seriously be about anything, the more random the better. :-)

Finals are almost done and then I'll be able to do some the redesign/upgrading the site I want to do. Woohoo I'll finally be taking PHP next semester since i have had no time to try and fully learn it.

At work today, I was waiting for the last 10mins of my shift to end, since there was nothing to do. I looked through last months Rolling Stone (not something I normally read, but it was the only magazine around) and it had something that really pissed me off, it was their little Political Cartoon type thing. It was of a door marked "Exit of the Video Game Store", and beyond that was another door marked "Life of Murderous Crime" (or something very similar or worse) and in the game store they had little boxes marked "Bunny Shooter", "Teddy Bear Hunter", and "DIE! DIE! DIE!", etc, etc.

I sat there, with my mouth gaped open, and kind of loudly said "What the Fuck!"
I mean no beating around the bush, for that. Hold on let me check something...

*walks away*
*looks at his Gamecube, Dreamcast, Playstation, N64, Super Nintendo, and thinks of the NES downstairs*
*counts number of games that could be considered violent: 25*
*counts number of times I've committed a violent crime: 0*
*counts number of stuffed animals or plushies in my room: 4* (not counting the ones downstairs)
*stops to pet the Dijiko plush, and hug the Puchiko plush*
*walks back*

Yeah I can honestly say after checking my room that, I'm a gamer, I play and enjoy violent games, I love cute fuzzy things, haven't killed anyone, or been very violent in general in the last few years. So I've proved this utterly ridiculous scandalous cartoon totally wrong in every possible respect. I'm all for free speech, but that's really only applies for people that aren't complete morons. I mean essentially it said "All games are violent, and anyone who plays them is going to become a very violent person and is going to harm or kill somebody." which is the dumbest thing I ever heard.

Its almost funny, because who was on the cover of this magazine...Eminem, the guy who sang about killing his wife, and killing or beating up homosexuals.
Hello Pot, the kettle is calling, something about being black?
